- What we did
- Muharraqi Studios produced the architectural presentation visualization for a 2015 stadium competition proposal developed by the design team at Arab Engineering Bureau for the 2022 FIFA World Cup programme in Qatar.
About the project
At competition stage, architecture exists primarily through drawings, models and the imagery used to communicate the design idea. The visualization therefore had to carry both the physical scale of a major stadium and the conceptual thinking behind the proposal.
The scheme developed by Arab Engineering Bureau drew its architectural character from the landscape of the dunes and incorporated a shaded stadium bowl. Muharraqi Studios translated the design team’s proposal into presentation imagery capable of communicating the architecture, atmosphere and overall concept as a single visual statement.
The work was produced in 2015, years before the World Cup venues reached completion.
Outcome
The proposal progressed to the final four competition submissions. It was not the scheme ultimately selected for construction.
