About the project
At the time of the identity work, the organisation was known as the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence; it is now known as the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance. Muharraqi Studios developed the Centre’s logo through multiple concept directions and rounds of refinement, working closely with the client’s leadership.
The final mark was created around several ideas working simultaneously: two supporting hands, layered books and pages, architectural arches, a central source of light, and unity and coexistence. The forms overlap so that the symbol can be read in more than one way while remaining simple and recognizable.
The goal was a mark that is simple, strong, symbolic, dignified and scalable, rather than overly literal or decorative.
Outcome
The selected identity became the Centre’s adopted visual mark, developed through a collaborative review process from multiple initial directions to the final approved identity.
