About the project
Bahrain Rail is a national transport project of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Muharraqi Studios developed a CityView Desktop interactive presentation and simulation environment for the proposed passenger rail system, created for the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications to help senior decision-makers understand the proposal, evaluate options and review how the stations, the rail alignment and the overall passenger experience could function.
The studio built two station environments and the rail connection between them, so that users could explore the stations, understand the proposed alignment, experience travelling from one station to the next, review the project from multiple viewpoints and understand how the wider passenger rail system would work — rather than only viewing static architectural images. The original design concept was supplied; the studio then worked with the architects, developers and client to refine and modify parts of the station concepts and supporting structures so that the proposal remained clear, realistic and appropriate to the intended route and passenger experience. The studio contributed to architectural concept development and visualization; the station architecture and rail engineering are not its sole authorship.
The project marked an expansion of CityView beyond real-estate masterplans into transport simulation and infrastructure presentation, combining architectural visualization with an interactive experience designed to communicate how a future rail system could actually be experienced. It was developed for government presentation, high-level review, concept approval, option comparison and transport-system visualization — not for property sales.
Outcome
The CityView system was delivered to the Ministry in 2025 as an interactive presentation and simulation platform for reviewing the proposed Bahrain passenger rail concept.
