- What we did
- Muharraqi Studios developed a series of concept studies for a private landholding in Bahrain, working directly with the owner to explore possible relationships between site planning, landscape and built form.
About the project
Unlike a conventional architectural visualization commission, the project did not begin with a finished building design that simply needed to be rendered.
The imagery was used as a thinking tool. Different approaches to siting, landscape, massing and the relationship between the buildings and the land could be developed visually and considered with the owner before any commitment to a final architectural scheme.
The five concept studies therefore sit between design exploration and visualization: their purpose was to test ideas, compare possibilities and give form to options that were still evolving.
Outcome
The studies remained at concept stage and were not developed as a construction scheme. Their value was in allowing the owner to explore the potential of the site visually before committing to a defined direction.
