Abdulla Al-Muharraqi

Abdulla Al-Muharraqi, Khalid’s father, has received a great many awards in his lifetime and was again celebrated on Thursday April 9th in an event patronised by H.E. Jehad Bukamal, the Minister of Information. His contributions to the artistic field over the past 40 years have seen him honoured alongside other greats of Arts, Poetry and Literature by the Bahrain Society for Fine Arts in their Master’s of Art series.

The event concided with the publication of a new retrospective book that covers his life and work, titled “The Artist Abdulla Al-Muharraqi: Distinct Creativity”. The ceremony included speeches from poet and writer, Mohammed Hassan Kamaludin, the head of the Bahrain Society for Fine Arts and the artist himself as well as video retrospective of his work. The Artist was then given a number of commemorative gifts including a portrait of him created by his son, Khalid.
